Preventative maintenance is an often overlooked area of caring for you roof. Most residential roofing is meant to last for many years, a good maintenance plan can help drastically prolong the life of your home's roof. Roofs in Southern California often have problems with Ultraviolet exposure, known as UV radiation. While rainfall is less prevalent that other parts of the nation, the abundance of sunshine brings other specific issues that can be mitigated through maintenance and the use of top quality UV-resistant materials.
Traditional roof shingles made from asphalt have problems with UV exposure and prolonged heat. Composite shingles greatly reduce these issues. GAF (General Aniline & Film) shingles handle UV much better and the GAF Title-24 reflector series are much more energy efficient as well. This series of GAF roofing also handles UV very well.
Fire Resistive Roofing Shingles
Class A shingles are the most fire resistant on the market and should be the first choice of anyone living in Southern California's fire prone areas. Some of the Common Class A roof coverings include Asphalt, Fiberglass, Composition Shingles as well as Concrete, Clay and Metal roofs. If you are in need of a new roof, or your older roof is not fire resistive, Ventura County Roofers can install a complete Class-A roof of your choosing.
